ABG Cement Ltd is setting up 6 MMTPA clinker grinding unit at villages Mora, Ta: Choryasi, Dist: Surat. The flagship company of ABG group is ABG Shipyard Ltd which is now diversifying its business activity into cement. This is a MOU project signed during the vibrant Gujarat summit in the year 2009.ABGCL’s Cement Grinding Plant will produce three types of cement (OPC-Ordinary Portland Cement, PSC-Portland Slag Cement & PPC-Pozzolana Portland Cement) for which three cement mill are being commissioned simultaneously < 5 MMTPA cargo handling captive jetty and Captive Power Plant (2 x 30 MW) at Village Mora, Taluka Chorysi, District Surat are also being set up.

The project site is located at longitude 72o 41´ 37.97” E and latitude 21o10´ 30.21”N. Mora is situated at 24 km (by road) south west of Surat city, which is an important industrial centre of Gujarat and India.

ABGCL has acquired approx 50 Hac of land consisting of 17 Hac private land as well as 33 Hac of government land for this project.The basic raw materials required for clinker grinding are fly ash, gypsum and slag. ABGCL shall bring clinker from its Kutch Unit via sea route.The finished goods i.e. Cement will be dispatched by various modes of transportation viz Road, Rail & ships to various markets of India.

Other group ventures exits in Shipping, Engineering & Constructions, Power Generation, Motors and Mining. The Group’s latest business enterprise is an entry in to Cement Manufacturing. ABG Cement Limited is putting up 6 MTPA capacity split location cement plants in the state of Gujrat. Located at Bhuj and Surat, both the plants have a captive power plant of 50mw and a captive Jetty. We have selected most modern cement production technology of FL Smidth, who are leaders in the field and are having major market share in cement machinery.

Again for automation we have selected FLS Automation, who is specialist in latest automation technologies in cement. We have selected M/s. Loesche for supply of grinding mills. Loesche are the leaders in Grinding Technology.

Most of land acquisition and development work has been completed. All major machineries and equipments have been ordered and most of the major equipments have already either reached the site or in transit. Building/Structural construction and plant installation work are in a very advanced stage. The plants are in advanced stage of construction and we are aiming for an early launch.
